Bombskare

This was the first time I’d seen Bombskare and I discovered that I’m just too unfit at the moment to dance to great ska sets two days in a row. Okay so it was a long hard day on the Friday and I’d bounced my heart out during the Beat – and yes, I’d drank more than I have all year – but still disappointed in myself that lifting my legs to dance was near impossible. Although it meant I had more time to take photos but even then my arms were so tired camera shake became a big problem!
I’m starting a new keep fit regime, at the ska-gym.

I’m still struggling with the best post-processing for these type of shots, although I think I’m getting better at choosing the right in-camera settings now. Taken on my wee compact G10 camera in very low, unpredictable gig lighting (obviously!) and I’m still not certain of the balance of compromise between leaving the “natural” digital noise versus the cleaned, rather soft plasticy feel when using noise reduction software.

Red Hot Chilli Pipers

We waited for an extra three hours for the main arena to open at Wizard Festival 2009, not knowing that the wind had reached 50 mile an hour gusts and delayed things. We were too busy putting up our tent to worry much what other effects the wind would have!

The delay meant that the Red Hot Chilli Pipers were first act on. Turned out a really good opening act for a great weekend!

The SpoiltCat.com Blog only has one rule, “Never apologise for lack of updates.”

If there’s something interesting to share then we’ll try to find the time to share it, if not we’ll try to find something interesting. Updates will be irregular, we’ll neglect you and you may wonder if there will ever be another article.

Don’t worry though, we’ll write again soon—where “soon” is an undefined quantity …
