Palm : One

A palm tree at the beach (okay Queens Links, near the beach) should be a bright, colourful, sunshine photo but when I get home I just don’t feel that bright & sunny so we end up with another dark, gloomy picture — I despair of myself sometimes!

Palm : One One of many palm trees growing in not very tropical Aberdeen.

Yggdrasil

The titles I give to photos rarely, in my opinion, add anything to the image but this one is slightly different. Yggdrasil is the World Tree of Norse Mythology. The Tree of Life with branches that span the skies, supported on three roots one of which shelters the meeting place of the gods, another is gnawed upon by a dragon on the Shore of Corpses.

Many contemporary images of Yggdrasil show the huge scale of a tree encompassing the entire world but this is my view. It’s important not to overlook the details even when the whole is so imposing.

Yggdrasill

Yggdrasill The World Tree of Norse Mythology is an Ash whose branches reach to the heavens, covering the whole sky.

Three Trees

I took a fair number of landscapes on the same day as this shot but as pleasing as they all were at the time I’ve gone off them pretty quick. I think it’s time to face facts and realise that I may just be a mimimalist landscape lover.

The SpoiltCat.com Blog only has one rule, “Never apologise for lack of updates.”

If there’s something interesting to share then we’ll try to find the time to share it, if not we’ll try to find something interesting. Updates will be irregular, we’ll neglect you and you may wonder if there will ever be another article.

Don’t worry though, we’ll write again soon—where “soon” is an undefined quantity …
